M225. Types of C. Piso Frugi, after 67 BC; cf. Cr-408/1, 4.73g. Both sides quite stylized; meaningless and inappropriate obverse legend, blundered, meaningless reverse legend.
M226. Obverse type of Man. Acilius Glabrio, reverse type of P. Accoleius Lariscolus, after 43 BC; cf Cr-442/1b (O) and 486/1 (R), 3.28g. Both sides slightly stylized, the reverse a bit more so; unexplained markings before Salus' face; somewhat crude but accurate obverse legend; no reverse legend. The obverse would be classified as Copy were it paired with the proper reverse.
M227. Obverse type of P. Clodius Turrinus, reverse type of A. Postumius Albinus, after 42 BC; cf. Cr-494/23 (O) and 372/2 (R), 3.65g. Both sides quite stylized; no obverse legend, blundered, meaningless reverse legend.
M228+. Obverse type of L. Sempronius Pitio, reverse type probably of Lucius Appuleius Saturninus, after 104 BC; cf. Cr-216/1 (O) and 317/3b (R), 4.44g, serrate. Both sides stylized; no legends other than obverse X and reverse O above and T below horses, one or the other inappropriate. None of the possible prototypes accounts for the serration; presumably, the Dacian minter remembered other serrate coins. See 242+ for another example of this obverse die.
M229. Types of Q. Antonius Balbus, after 83 BC; cf. Cr-364/1, 2.80g. Both sides stylized; remnants of obverse SC and meaningless reverse legend.
M230. Various obverse prototypes, reverse type of Q. Antonius Balbus, after 83 BC; cf. Cr-364/1 (R), 3.08g, serrate. Both sides stylized, the obverse much more so; no obverse legend; blundered, meaningless reverse legend.
M231. Obverse type of Pub. Crepusius, reverse type of Q. Antonius Balbus, after 83 BC; cf. Cr-361/1 (O) and 364/1 (R), 3.28g. Both sides quite stylized; no legends.
M232. Various obverse prototypes, reverse type of C. Annius and L. Fabius Hispaniensis, after 82 BC; cf. Cr-366/1 (R), 3.63g. Both sides quite stylized; blundered obverse ROMA, blundered, meaningless reverse legend.
M233. Obverse type of C. Naevius Balbus, reverse type of L. Cupiennius, after 79 BC; cf. Cr-382/1 (O) and 218/1 (R), 3.21g. Both sides stylized; blundered obverse SC; blundered, recognizable reverse legend.
M234+. Obverse type of L. Papius, reverse type of L. Rustius, after 76 BC; cf. Cr-384/1 (O) and 389/1 (R), 3.28g. Obverse "barbarous", reverse stylized; no obverse legend; blundered, recognizable reverse legend.
M235+. Obverse type of C. Memmius, reverse type of P. Nerva, after 56 BC; cf. Cr-427/1 (O) and 292/1, 3.97g. Both sides slightly stylized, with slightly blundered legends. The reverse is remarkably well-detailed, better than many surviving official specimens!
M236+. Obverse type of C. Vibius Pansa Caetronianus, reverse type of M. Plaetorius Cestianus, after 48 BC; cf. Cr-449/1 (O) and 409/1 (R), 3.73g. Both sides slightly stylized, with slightly blundered, largely correct legends. Would be classified as Copy if types were properly paired.
